The word vinaigrette or vinegarette (from the diminutive of the French term ''vinaigre'' meaning vinegar) can refer to: * Vinaigrette, the salad dressing or sauce * Vinegret or Russian Vinaigrette, a salad in Russian cuisine * A non-edible dressing made from aromatic sensual oils and various types of vinegars for a unique experience for intimate messages and other sensual pleasures. * A small container with a perforated top, used to contain an aromatic substance such as vinegar or smelling salts, especially popular for women in the Victorian era to combat the aroma from the waste products common in cities * A two-wheeled carriage invented in the 17th century in France, named for the carts commonly used by vinegar vendors (it had spring suspension). Its use was mainly restricted to Northern France, where it was a mode of public transportation until the beginning of the 20th century.
